Seth is the god of chaos and evil but he wasn't like that in the beginning...
Seth was loyal and very formal (still is) he was the one who helped Ra bring the sun over the magical Nile of Egypt. Each time Seth had helped him keep Apep away and made sure that he would never eat the sun.
There was a prophecy of this that at the end of everything will be Apep who ate the sun and brought absolute destruction.
Seth was a god of this but to have the world end would be the miss balance of ma-at and that would bring more than just chaos it would be...
Seth was the ruler of upper Egypt while Horus was the ruler of lower. The two started of as allies but this event happened:
Seth finally snapped he had broke from all the stress he was under and within his madness he became jealous of Osiris he trapped him in a sarcophagus that was enchanted to restrain him. Seth cut up Osiris in seven precise in which he spread across Egypt. When Isis found out about her husband she was furious. She searched for his precises and successfully found them. Osiris became The Lord of the dead from that day and another thing happened Seth was now a god of evilness. No gods from then on understood him. From that Horus was sets mortal enemy in which they had amazing wars.
The true fact was Seth was on the urge of madness due to fighting Apep every night and all gods expected highly of him.
Seth was not always evil it was the other gods of Egypt that transformed him to... this. Seth still has a patch in his heart that might not ever mend.
